Our Grommet Tow Ropes are made with our HMPE 12 Strand rope. It has an extremely high strength to weight ratio and size for size has the same or better break strength as wire rope and yet it floats. It features a high flex fatigue and abrasion resistance and is easily field spliceable. HMPE is considered to have the lowest stretch of any synthetic rope. Designed to be comparable to Dyneema Amsteel Blue, Plasma 12 and Endura 12; this rope will exceed your expectations.
Our grommet tow lines are essentially a doubled up version of our standard tow lines. First, the line is spliced into an endless loop, boosting the strength by 65% (compared to our standard tow lines). Then it is fully enclosed in chafe protection to enhance abrasion resistance both around the main line and then again over the loop's body. The secondary chafe guard not only enhances the chafe protection but also allows the rope to feel like it is one solid piece, making it easier to use and store. Grommet slings are primarily used when you need the highest amount of strength in the shortest possible length. Our 1-1/2" grommet sling has a 360,800 lb capacity and is available from stock.
Our tow lines are fully protected with ballistic nylon chafe guard over both the eyes and body of the line. They can also be ordered with our enclosed thimbled eyes for additional protection. (Additional labor charges may apply).
A size-for-size wire rope replacement made with HMPE fiber, 12-strand HMPE is easy to inspect and splice in the field, and is available in high-visibility colors. Our HMPE is our most popular, and versatile, high performance synthetic rope.
Features:
Safer - With lighter synthetic rope you can acheive safer handling. Reduced sparking. Reduced injury due to recoil. No fish hooks. No kinking in lines.
Lighter - The same strength as steel, but 85% lighter, yeilding the maximum strength-to-weight ratio.
Faster - Our lightweight rope construction and ease of handling means faster change-outs and less downtime.
Easier - Increased operational efficiency. Reduced line change-outs. Prolonged service life.
Larger sizes, custom lengths and volume pricing is available upon request.
